Singapore - a family dictatorship with corporate business sense and spin

Singapore would appear PRO-BUSINESS on the outside, yet when you actually live there you will see that if you don't follow the COMPANY/COUNTRY policy you will endure and suffer the consequences of the Singapore Family Owned/Monopolistic Corporate Tactics.

So what happens if you disagree with the Singapore's country's/company policy? Well, the ruling Family Dictatorship through it's People's Action Party (PAP), will use it's country/company LAWYERS, to sue you to near bankruptcy. Next, the county, through it's LEGAL SYSTEM will force you into bankruptcy and then if you can't pay, or the courts find you with criminal behavior, they will put you in jail.

Singapore's People's Action Party (PAP) is a one-party system that is unlike America's two party system via Democrats and Republicans. The People's Action Party has never lost a general election since Singapore was founded in the 1960's. And they win 99% of the time!

The citizens of Singapore are required to vote. What does that mean? It means that the Company/Country wants to know where you stand by having you declare, via vote. Basically, it's a clever way of eavesdropping, Nazi Germany Gestapo style. If you vote the wrong way, hence, not part of the company, the COMPANY, now knows who you are and can easily do an investigation into you like the Gestapo did in Nazi Germany.

Additionally, the government of Singapore has huge SPIN campaign to lure Ex Pat's or Ex-Patriots into working in Singapore. For example, websites for Ex-Pat's tell a different story on Singapore's government and refers to Singapore as a multi-party system when one party really wins 99% of time. These websites also mention strict but fair way of life. Like no gum, no drugs, etc.

However, these expat websites also fail to mention the high human trafficking and prostitution problem Singapore has. In fact, in one YouTube video, the documentary shows a reporter on a dimly lit street with around a thousand prostitutes, that's right, a thousand prostitutes, a lot of them from other Asian countries promised bar jobs or waitress jobs only to find out they are stuck in Singapore and are forced into prostitution. As you can see, this squeaky clean image of Singapore is not as clean as you think or read about.

Singapore's Pro-Business and Marketing Spin
The ruling family, Lee Kuan Yew, have years of company and marketing/spin experience. What looks like democracy and capitalism on the outside, is really "family / company" policy. Wink, Wink.
  • Instead of "ruling" or "edict", Singapore's uses, "policy".

  • Instead of the CIA or the Gestapo to do their snooping, Singapore uses mandatory "democratic" voting to see where each citizen stands each year. See how efficient that is?

  • Instead of disagreeing, Singapore says that you "oppose".

  • Instead of using the Nazi Germany Gestapo to enforce their company policy, Singapore uses LAWYERS to sue anyone who disagrees into bankruptcy.

  • Instead of "we know better than you", Singapore uses "restrictive".

  • Instead of ruling family, Singapore uses "democratically elected" officials via vote rigging though population control and foreign "look-the-other-way" workers and companies.

  • Instead of investigations or mandatory voting, Singapore has "100% voter turnout"!

Singapore's Law Firms - The New Corporate Gestapo
Singapore would have you think they are Pro-Capitalist and Pro-Democratic. And in many ways, that's true. (No gum, no drugs, etc...) Yet, if you disagree (or in the ruling party terms, 'oppose'), you will be treated, behind doors of course, as a threat to the ruling family's ways of life and power.) So what if the family (or company board of directors) see you as a threat, they use lots and lots of lawyers and "in-their-back-pocket" judges to sue any disagreeing person into bankruptcy. When the PAP, i.e. the ruling one-party so called 'democratic' system, wins essentially 99% of the time since the Singapore was first declared independent in the 1960's, one has got to wonder how this is. (You can forget about any big corporations or the ruling family owned media empire, they are part of the Singapore (Nazi) Corporate "IN" crowd. Like Hollywood in-crowd A-List)

Singapore's Big Business Policy (Pro-Business vs Family Owned Business)
If you have money, or you are a Fortune 500 company, and someone from the Singapore ruling Family/Company likes you or can make lots of dollars off of you, then you are their favorite son. Hence, if you notice, that all you really see in Singapore is Big Business. In Singapore, because it's a very small country/company, everyone knows everyone eventually. So while Singapore wants you, the outside world to believe they are a democracy, Singapore's is really a family owned company run by company policy!

Singapore's Corporate Tactics and Hidden Fees/Taxes against Small Businesses
If there is tax or fee that needs to be paid to setup a business in Singapore, you can believe you will pay it and pay dearly, and on top of that, ANNUALLY.

Most of the fees for a small startup business in Singapore are the same as a Fortune 500 company which means you have better have a bank account like a Fortune 500 company to survive. The same can be said for anything from taxes, from the agent to the office to even sky high patent costs if you are of the creative bent. (Singapore's Patent System and its registered patent attorneys and patent firms charge more than anywhere else in the world, even more than the USA, Japan and Europe. Yes, a tiny little island with a few million people can charge that much!)

In fact, the fees are so high, the business agent or whatever lawyer you might work with never tells you the full cost. What they do is tell you is the initial costs and then surprise you later, with fee after fee after fee. And then even if you ask for the TOTAL costs, they say it's TOO complicated to tell you or figure it out. How do you like that for a family owned corporate/company policy?

Singapore Ruling Family - The Firm with Tom Cruise (1993)
If you have ever seen Tom Cruise in the movie, The Firm released in 1993, and you compare that to Singapore, you would think that Singapore is the same except with Asian actors and law firm is the family of Lee Kuan Yew and the People's Action Party. Where as Tom Cruise's house is bugged, Singapore requires mandatory voting, which is essentially a "mind/thought" control accounting audit of every citizen in Singapore. Just as the law firm in the movie, The Firm showered the young lawyer Tom Cruise and his wife with job, salary, car, so it is with the young professionals recruited overseas to work in Singapore. The Firm was fantastic in cover ups, marketing spin, and legal tactics just as the so called "democratically" elected ruling family is with business and marketing spin. Who is to know what Singapore and ruling party is hiding?

Well, the web can also be used for good as opposed to for Singapore's corporate PR spin. Singapore has bank secrecy laws that are great for money laundering and tax evasion. In fact, if you do a Google Search on the terms, rapid growth of asia millionaires singapore, you will see that a lot of Indonesian businessmen launder their money in that little city as Singapore is like an Asian Switzerland. According to this article by IHT, Singapore is basically a Switzerland for Asia's wealthy.

Singapore's Smoke and Mirror's Population Numbers

Singapore is growing, but only because big business has to import people to get them to work there as the educated native population wants out of the country/company policies a.k.a. dictator edicts/ rulings. What big business in Singapore has to do is find young/naive yet educated professionals to move to Singapore to work, if only on a temp basis. Singapore's Family Company and partner big businesses can't find or keep the native educated inside the country due to it's heavy handed company policy, so what must Singapore do? Hire outside workers with a good salary who only see the business outside shell of things and could care less about right and wrong. In other words, they like to hire the "pay-me-and-I-will-keep-my-mouth-shut" type of people, including professionals like the many Lawyers the have for their "police force".

Aside, how many small innovative business do you know in Singapore that have put a family owned business, out of business? Zero, why, cause the creative types, or those that think they have a better way than the country/company policy have left Singapore. So that's why big business needs to attract outsiders, but only certain types of outsiders who are wined and dines and there to just to collect a paycheck and certainly not to have a conscience. You can almost think of Singapore as Wall Street Firms, big banks, and mortgages companies. As long as everyone in the COMPANY and it's partners gets paid, don't rock the boat. And you can bet the CEO's and Singapore's ruling and so called democratically elected family get paid regardless.

And did we forget about Bernard Madoff and R. Allen Stanford Ponzi scheme. So don't be surprised if Singapore gets hit as you never really know where the money was coming....like is Singapore the model of conservatism really getting proceed from those Macau Casinos or for that matter a perfect place for South East Asia gangs, criminals, corporations to hid their money and evade taxes. Just like Tom Cruise in the Firm was actually a front for the mob.

One can list Singapore as
100% Ruling Family Owned,
100% Ruling Family Corporate "Approved" Free Speech,
100% Public Relation (PR),
0% fairness,
and 0% conscience.

Or in a nutshell, Singapore is a 100% family owned corporation with 0% conscience.

10 years of inconvenient walls VERSUS another 1,000 years of violence

There are many in the "MSM" or "Main Stream Media" as well as those interviewed in the area known as Adhamiyah, Baghdad that resent and complain about this new concrete wall saying it will, "suffocate" them and restrict their movements. This is completely wrong and here is why.

  1. 10 YEARS versus 1,000 YEARS
Concrete Walls will give Sunnis and Shiites time to COOL OFF and take an extended TIME OUT and break the cycle of violence that has lasted more than a thousand of years. And if it takes decades like other walls have done before, isn't it worth the wait? Look at the construction of the bridges like the new Bay Bridge in San Francisco, how many years will it have constant traffic jams? Why at least 10 years to build and that means 10 years of restricted movement and constant traffic jams. An no, you are not going to have a closed society like North Korea or Iran, as there are checkpoints that let both side pass after being checked for bombs and dangerous objects.

  2. SEPARATING THE 12-YEAR OLDS
What about when two 12-year old kids fight each other? What do you do? You SEPARATE them and if they don't see each other for the next 10, 20, or 30 years and somehow grow up, mature and forget what they were fighting about and then later meet in life and become good friends, isn't it worth the wait? Well, the answer is YES. And it's the same in IRAQ, and in Israel and Palestine and Lebanon. And after that time, you can take down the wall like it was done in Berlin. Or slowly add more checkpoint to areas that have proven themselves peaceful. So what if it takes lots of time like decades or more. Lots of good things take time anyway and is it not worth the wait? Aren't good things like peace and justice worth the wait? Well, yes it is. (Don't people wait in line at their favorite restaurant or new movie. And it takes years for a baby to grow to be an adult. But do people have to put up with it, yes.)

  3. IT'S GOING TO TAKE MORE TIME TO GO TO PLACES
Complaints like "It's going to take more time to go Wall-Mart on the other side of the wall." are just like those comments that go like, "It's going to take more time to cross the Bay Bridge in S.F. cause they are building another bridge so more people can cross in the future." So in the end, it will be better. And yes, Iraqis can put stores like Wall Mart on both sides of the wall to make things easier for both sides, just smaller ones. It will also be easier on the commute times, e.g. little shopping areas like you have in California that have the whole gamut of big and small stores.

Furthermore, with a concrete wall, you get results even more quickly as you can more easily capture the extremists as they don't have the whole city to run around in without being stopped by a checkpoint several times. Sooner or later their hidden stockpiles are going to run out as they need to start using them anyway as the public will and have already turned on extremists, not to mention the constant security sweeps will eventually get more and more weapons. (i.e. Use it or lose it.)

  4. "TIME HEALS ALL WOUNDS"
What is that saying, "Time heals all wounds" or something like that. After 20, 30 or more years, the decades of family feuds, or in this case, tribal and ethnic feuds are more forgotten with each year of peace and calm as those doing the attacking and those being attacked live out the rest of their lives in peace and peacefully die. Thus, their children will at least know what peace is and compromise to get it. Right now, all Iraqis only know is "injustice" and "violence". With a concrete wall, at least it's possible to have some justice and peace that the children will grow up in. And with a democratic Iraq that is free to surf the Internet, the children, women and men can voice their opinions and learn something positive as opposed to always seeking protection from the Islamic extremists and thugs. The children and their grandchildren will not have the same memories, hurt, sorrows, revenge and secretarian killings and injustices and hate like their parents did.

  5. TO THE "MSM'S IMPATIENT AND GLASS HALF-EMPTY EXPERT"
You got some "so-called expert" in on the news saying the "wall" doesn't address the real problem that the Sunnis and Shiites need to eventually get along for a safer Iraq.

Well, Dear "Impatient and Glass Half-Empty Expert", good things take time and if you were really an expert, you would realize one needs patience, and both sides need time to "cool off". And if they can also postpone their bomb happy reunions to 10, 20, or 30 years from now to break the cycle of violence that has lasted more than a thousand years, then let's start the peace now.

The concrete wall separating them will allow time for both sides to mature and grow up and see things differently and send their kids to school as opposed to spending all their time attacking each other. And for all you anti-war defeatists, you FIRST stop the extremists from blowing up the bridges by using walls to close in on extremists and then after you get them, then you can start building bridges (and in that order).

  6. FIGURING OUT WHO DID WHAT
Even if they shoot mortars across the concrete wall, what satisfaction do they get? Do they know if they hit anything? Do they know if their chief enemy has moved to a different location? Can they do a BDA (Bomb Damage Assessment)? Nope, or at best, not really as they will again have to cross the checkpoint. They will have to lob more and more inaccurate mortars to get any significant results only to be more easily tracked down. Or just as well, more areas that again can be walled off and searched.

  7. DIVIDE BY 9+1 AND CONQUERING 1,000
Walling off and checkpoints is a form of divide and conquer and it works if you can really do reliable dividing. and yes, you can reliably divide, they did it in Berlin, Israel, Palestine and Lebanon and they can do it in Iraq. If it takes double, triple or more walled off areas, then so be it, as it's worth breaking the cycle of violence that has lasted more than a thousand years. Let's see, 9, 10, 18, 36 or more walls versus another 1,000 years of violence?

(aside: Do the MSM want 1,000 more years of violence so they can better TV ratings?
Hmm. Sounds like an arms dealer to me. Journalist/MSM = TV/arms dealer)

The concrete walls provide extremists filtering and, eventually, the extremists will get caught as they have to make their attacks more provocative to get any attention and results. Hence, bigger bombs that can be more easily detected when passing though the checkpoints. They, the Americans and Iraqi Army can also figure out what side, including both sides, that are lobbing the bombs/mortars and punish both sides if need be. And, at least you know who's wrong and whose right as opposed to not knowing at all who set off this or that bomb. They can and do punish players on both sides in NFL football games (not to mention, players from both sides can both be kicked out of the game). And it's the same here in Iraq.

  8. WALL OFF MARKET PLACES, SHOPPING MALLS,
    AND HEAVILY CROWDED AREAS
What needs to be said here? Wall off heavily trafficked marketplaces and shopping malls that have heavy foot traffic to cars and trucks. That is, wall off to car bombs that can have devastating effects. Have checkpoints for pedestrians (or suicide bombers) that are searched like they do airports, except have gas station like concrete bays that protect each individual from another.

  9. PREVENT CROWDING AT CHECKPOINTS WITH
    SPECIAL CORNER SHAPED HIDING/WAITING AREAS

Multiple Z, T or L-shaped concrete barriers that allow each individual to wait in a protected corner before being checked out at the checkpoints. i.e. prevent crowding and hence sitting ducks at checkpoints. You don't see soldiers crowding together in a street do you? Well, why should pedestrians be sitting ducks waiting to waived though at major checkpoints? Iraqis can develop and construct Z, T or L-shaped concrete barriers for very little cost as you only needed in areas that have crowding. And if you have to use orange cones to space people and cars out for safer distance, then so be it. And yes, checkpoints can be a lot more safe and efficient than they are now with inexpensive and simple geometric concrete structures. Look at airport security in the U.S., by simply adding more tables before and after the metal detector checkpoint so people have more time to empty pockets and bags into those gray plastic bins, it made things faster and reduced bottlenecks. Duhhh!!

Make cars park far enough away. Make delivery trucks park in a "international customs like holding area" that will be searched later if there are too many of them. If shop keepers have to wait a day, week, or more to restock his/her inventory then so be it, (Let them order more items in advance then and earlier). Everyone has to make sacrifices to make this thing work. And, no, these sacrifices won't last forever.

  10. THE CYCLE OF 1,000 YEARS OF VIOLENCE IS NOT INVINCIBLE
Don't "Cooler Heads" prevail? Well, if it takes a concrete wall to divide and conquer the Hot Head Extremists and allow both sides to more quickly "cool down" in years or decades, that's better than keeping the cycle of violence that has lasted more than a thousand years going.

If people can put up with years of concrete walls for a bridge construction project, people can put up for years of concrete walls to end the 1,000 or more years of violence.

  11. NO WALL IS PERMANENT.
IT'S JUST THERE FOR AS LONG AS IT'S NEEDED

The Berlin wall wasn't permanent and neither will the North Korean wall be permanent. It, the walls, are there as long as they are needed. The same can be said for the Baghdad walls and the Israeli walls. Some countries need longer times to cool off than other countries do.
